Subject:This was the decade ...
Time:11:24 pm
in which things did not go as planned, at all.

This is the decade in which everything I worked for, studied for, prepared for, fell apart. I met very few of my "by thirty" expectations. Certain doors of opportunity closed indefinitely, if not forever. I learned that there is no such thing as being paid enough. That an Ivy League degree will not pay for itself. I am still not sure of it was worth it other than for social benefits. I also learned that work politics can have a huge impact on my life even when I am not involved in it.

I learned that I am still adaptable.

I think I came out okay.

Subject:R.I.P Eileen Rahmer
Time:12:27 am
Current Mood:[mood icon] melancholy
The last of Grandma's generation died during the night of Christmas Eve. Great-Aunt Eileen Rahmer died at 88 years of age. Thankfully, she had it much easier than the other relatives - no coma, cancer, or agonizing over life support. She passed away in her chair, while reading a book.

Mom says to not be depressed over it, since she is now reunited with her parents and siblings.
